Grass Skirts In Twelve Shades Of Grazr

As James pointed out earlier on, Grazr themes are now available, coming in twelve tasty flavours. I had been looking at my own style for it (although never got around to implementing it) but have to say that I’m quite impressed with the new offering.

If you take a look at the sidebar on the blog you’ll notice my own Grazr window is the new milk_white theme, fits perfectly into the blog and if I may say so looks a hell of a lot nicer than the previous iteration. Fair play lads, ye did a bang up job.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed to keep up to date with kenmc.com. Maybe some of my earlier posts will interest you too! Thanks for visiting kenmc.com!

A Little Grazing On The Side

Kudos to James for the mention of Mobileblogr (don’t know about “Ireland’s most prolific blogger but some day I’ll try make sense of it all!) and for again alerting me to the benefits of Grazr.

I’ve been looking for a convenient way to tie my little growing blog network together (currently totalling 8 active blogs and one or two inactive ones which might get new leases of life in the future) so I thought I’d give their sidebar widget a whirl to advertise the feed for Mobileblogr, get a little blog-to-blog interactivity going.

Of course, I remembered by Opmlmanager.com account and threw together an opml file (available at http://www.kenmc.com/kenmc.opml) to group together all the feeds from the 8 active blogs, allowing you to jump in and out of each of the blogs from the main kenmc.com sidebar, likely rolling out across LiverpoolAccess.com, TheFootballTimes.com and Mobileblogr over the weekend.

Talk about convenient!

Why I’ve never created a Grazr before I don’t know…. even when flicking through them on other blogs!

All I’ve to do now is work out a few theming kinks I might have introduced prior to adding the Grazr and we’ll be sorted…

Killing MySpace via OPML?

Not the end of MySpace by any means but James Corbett’s article this evening certainly has my attention!

OPML Irish Directory

I’ve been tinkering around with OPMLManager.com on suggestion from James Corbett of the Eirepreneur blog and have decided to make my contribution to the Open Irish Directory by managing a node on Irish Film.

So now you’ll think

  • What the hell is OPML?
  • What is the Open Irish Directory
  • What the hell is a node?

So here goes!

OPMLOPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) is an XML format for outlines. Originally developed by Radio UserLand as a native file format for an outliner application, it has since been adopted for other uses, the most common being to exchange lists of RSS feeds between RSS aggregators.

The OPML specification defines an outline as a hierarchical, ordered list of arbitrary elements. The specification is fairly open which makes it suitable for many types of list data.

    OPMLManager.com

OPML Manager is simply brilliant. As in simple and brilliant. The simplicity is deceptive because its a very powerful enabler. Not only is it a web-based, AJAX enabled OPML editor but, crucially, it’s an OPML host. That means that anyone can now contribute a node to an open directory project like indiePodder or the Open Irish Directory

    Open Irish Directory

OID is a directory of all things Irish, and open in the sense that anyone can contribute to it. Think of it as a catalog of links, hierarchical, with individuals managing the nodes (sub categories of links) and their content (the actual links). Check it out.

Anyway… go check it out!
